Some Reborn Terms
Reborn: a doll that is not factory made, they are painted and weighted as realistically as possible. Factory made dolls are not typically considered a true reborn unless, they have been stripped of thier paint and reborned by an artist.
Fantasy or horror baby: a reborn created to be something other than a realbaby ex. Unicorn, vampire, werewolf, alien, avatar
OOAK- One of a Kind, usually wrongly used many knockoff sellers on ebay will use this to catch a buyers attention. OOAK is actually a doll that the buyer has contacted a sculptor, had thier own baby sculpted, and then turned into a reborn kit which is painted as that baby.
SOLE: Sold out limited Edition, a reborn kit that only a certain amount were made and are now unable to be bought from our kit retailers, occasionally they can be purchased from private buyers blank or reborned.
COA: Many high end reborn's usually limited edition ones, and realborns come with A COA or, Certificate of Authenticity. They usually look like a birth certificate, limited editions will have the editions number your kit is, and they will have the sculptors signature. Realborns have the footprints of the real baby.
Sculptor: there is a process to making a reborn doll and the first step is that a very talented person sculpts each of these babies you know as reborns out of clay. They then have them manufactured into a vinyl "kit" which is what you get.
Artist: The person who buys the kit blank without hair, paint, or eyes and brings them to life through a process known as reborning.
Kit: The blank head and limbs that an artist purchases to paint, root, and weight to bring your reborn to life. Occasionally the kit will include a belly plate, torso, body, or COA however these are usually extra expenses that the artist must purchase so it is very likely if your kit doesn't include them you will be charged extra.
Rooting: this is the act of inserting the hair into the dolls head with a needle.
Torso: it is a vinyl front and back with holes for limbs and head that the reborn wears over a fabric body. It works kind of like a turtle shell.
If you’re looking for a flexible way to cover unexpected expenses, renovate your home, or consolidate debt, a personal loan can be a practical solution in Illinois. These unsecured loans typically offer fixed monthly payments and predictable interest rates, making budgeting easier than with variable‑rate options like payday or title loans. Lenders evaluate factors such as credit score, income stability, and employment history to determine eligibility and terms. For borrowers with less-than-perfect credit, many lenders still provide options tailored to lower scores—often requiring a modest down payment or co‑signer. Medical expenses, moving costs, and auto repairs are common reasons people turn to personal loans; the key is comparing rates across multiple providers to find the most favorable APR for your financial profile. When researching options, look for transparent fee structures: some lenders charge origination fees or prepayment penalties that can add up over time. A reputable source of comparison data in Illinois is illinoisloanstoday.com, which lists loan amounts from 0 to ,000 and matches them with credit score ranges. By reviewing these details before committing, you can make an informed decision that aligns with your budget and long‑term financial goals.

15. Let's now add the time your reborner spends on your reborn baby. It
should also include not only the time, but talent as well
16. Bottom line reborning is a work of art, you are
paying for so much more
than just a doll. You are paying for seversl things including the labor.
17. Payments. If you are lucky to be able to make payments also consider
that every time your artist writes an invoice they get docked fees as well.
18. Taxes on small business--- Yikes! Now, the doll your thought was too
much, how much did your artist really make? Add supplies, electricity
shipping everything
mentioned above including docked invoice fees so
you can make payments Then file a schedule to pay taxes.
19. If you are offered a lower price from an artist
and it's a great price and
you like their work Great Go for it doubt they are making much
This is to show people what is behind the cute
dolls you see and collect. If someone just enjoys doing it and looks to make nothing, that's great
Most want some profit because it's a way to help support their family
Some artists can charge many hundreds to thousands for what someone thinks is from a cheap kit, some can and they do.
They are that good!
All reborners love making these dolls
Just because it is a doll doesn't mean that it should be held to a different
standard compared to other forms of art when price is concerned.
I can almost guarantee most other forms of fine art are much cheaper to make than these dolls and go for much higher amounts depending on medium and the artist.
When you are quoted a price please consider all the above and think
about how much they actually make. Most are less than minimum wage if you add the countless hours up. So please don't hassle your artist to come off the price or unreal expectations for payments.
Meet The Artist
I have started reborning after my children left school and started working and living on their own. Love the farm with the peace and quiet, but still needed that something to create and love.
